Product Type: Meade
Size: 750mL
Description: Mead is a honey-based drink that has a long and storied history dating back centuries. It was originally made by monks using fermented honey and water, and was enjoyed by ancient Gauls and Anglo Saxons. This unique beverage soon made its way into the courts of the four Kings of Ireland, where it was considered a vital part of any banquet. It was believed to have powers of virility and fertility, and it became custom for a newly married couple to drink mead for one full moon after their wedding, giving rise to the term "honeymoon." Today, in Ireland, it is still tradition to toast the bride and groom with a glass of mead as they depart on their honeymoon from the wedding feast. Our mead is made from white wine mixed with honey and herbs, creating a rich and flavorful drink that is perfect for celebrating special occasions.
