As the third oldest operating distillery in the world, Buffalo Trace Distillery, established in 1773, has been perfecting its craft since Kentucky was a wild frontier and the United States was just an idea. Throughout centuries and numerous ownership changes, Buffalo Trace has remained a cornerstone for authentic American whiskey. At the turn of the millennium, the distillery embraced its heritage, paying homage to W.L. Weller by reserving some of the first whiskeys distilled in the new millennium to create a remarkable innovation.
Weller Millennium, a blend of vintage straight bourbon and wheat whiskeys distilled in 2000, 2003, 2005, and 2006, showcases the unique influence of wheat on whiskey flavor. The wheat imparts a smooth, sweet, and approachable character, creating a harmonious and balanced final product that exceeds the sum of its parts.
